- Completed TechSkills Course: CompTIA Linux+ : XK0-002
on 02/12/06.
- Achieved CompTIA Linux+ certification on 02/12/06.
- Implemented MRTG on RedHat Linux to proactively
monitor servers and network equipment.
- Instruct and mentor junior instructors and students
pursuing IT certification courses including CompTIA Linux+ and Sun Solaris
courses. This includes assisting students with hands-on labs and answering
technical subject matter questions.

- Setup a Helpdesk website using Liberum open-source
software (running on RedHat Linux) and MS SQL Server 2000.
- Saved company from spending 15,000 on a Microsoft
Exchange e-mail server by implementing an open source e-mail server based on
RedHat 7.3 and Postfix.
- Re-designed e-mail server by spreading the load among
multiple SMTP servers with a central POP server.
- Added new services to the e-mail server:
- -configured SquirrelMail web e-mail client.
- -configured SpamAssassin spam deterrent software.
- -configured Anomy Sanitizer spam and virus
deterrent software.
- Increased company communication by installing an open
source Linux e-mail list manager: MajorDomo

- Passed Sun Certified System Administrator for Solaris
7, Part 1 on 12/17/00.
- Coordinated with software developers in Canada to
implement new website features, and troubleshoot problems with internal
software systems. The proprietary document imaging and database/retrieval
software ran on top of Sun Solaris and Sun equipment.
- Managed 1-Sun Enterprise 450, 15-Sun Sparc Ultra 5
workstations running Sun Solaris.
- Responsible for maintaining off-site system backups
using Legato backup software and a DLT tape jukebox.
- Responsible for generating management level reports on
web/ftp/network/computer resources using custom unix shell scripts and
WebTrends software.
- Responsible for the management and operation of two
production websites: www.controldocs.com and video.controldocs.com running
on Netscape webserver software running on a Sun E-450 computer.
